Winners and other news
On Tuesday, February 1st, the New York Game Awards were held on www.twitch.tv/nyvgcc and Youtube at 8pm. The NYVGCC is a nonprofit promoting awareness of, and education for video games, writing, and journalism in the New York City area. The nonprofit hosts the annual award program to celebrate the industry and its creators from the past year, as well as the students that NYVGCC men. The award show also featured musical guests from Ollie Milford to Maddie Rice.

Joltin’ Joe Award for Best Esports Player of the Year: Genki “Gen” Kumisaka (Tekken 7 for Donuts USG)
Knickerbocker Award for Best Games Journalism: Rebekah Valentine – Investigative reporting
A new award was announced that is known as the Jennings Gram Award for Best Educator. Helen Pfeffer and Rudy Blanco are the winners of this award.
A Scholarship (Rockstar Games) Award winner was announced tonight.
Brytyn Santos has won this award.
Tim Schafer, the founder and game designer at Double Fine Productions has won this year's Andrew Huygen Legend Award! He is known for such games as Grim Fandango, Brütal Legend, and both Psychonauts.
